Get Ready for your Private Sound Bath Session

Your Sound Bath Session is approaching! Please read through this page to learn how to get the most out of your session.

Address & Parking

IMPORTANT: Your appointment will begin at the scheduled time, and you are encouraged to arrive ten minutes prior to the start of your session so that you can settle in and make full use of your time slot. This area is undergoing construction which may slow down your commute. If you're arriving from outside of the area, it is advised to add an additional 25 minutes to your travel time to account for delays.

Your session will take place at 52 St. Lawrence Street, Unit #308, Buzzer 3234. The studio is located on the third floor of a walk up in Corktown, northeast of the Distillery District. The freight elevator may be available if you find the journey up the stairs inaccessible, however there are still steps that must be climbed to arrive at the freight elevator.

There is street parking available on St. Lawrence Street, and on King Street. There is also Green P parking on Rolling Mills Rd, about a 3 minute walk away.

What to Expect

After sipping your complimentary blue lotus tea, you'll lie on a treatment table while being immersed in Solfeggio frequencies. You can take this time to focus on your intention for the session. I will then guide you through a practice to help you strengthen your intention. We'll practice an optional somatic exercise to help you enter a state of relaxation, making you more receptive to the beneficial effects of sound. After that, there is nothing left to do but to simple be, while I play instruments around your body (and, with your consent, on your body), "bathing" you in sonic vibrations. I am the guide, you are your healer. This session is intended to activate your soma's ability to heal itself.

During sessions, clients have experienced a variety of things: deep relaxation or sleep, meditative states, increased sense of presence in the body, feeling heavy and/or light, vibrations, energy rush in nadis, restlessness, feeling of floating, beautiful visions, emotional release, feeling hot and cold in the spine, etc. These are all part of the cleansing process. It is recommended to not get attached to them as they are only momentary; instead, be a witness and just observe.

How to Prepare

  • It is important to arrive 10 minutes before your session begins, and to factor in traffic delays in this area which can be around 25 minutes due to construction. This is to help ensure you have time to park, arrive in the space, settle in and become present. Rushing into your appointment can make it harder to relax during your session, and arriving late will cut into your session duration. As you settle in, you can practice meditation and mindfulness, observing the state you are in and focusing on your intention for your session. Your intention should be stated in the present tense, as though it has already happened.

  • It is recommended to stay on top of your water-intake 24 hours prior to your session so that you arrive at your appointment well-hydrated. Sound waves travel more effectively through water.

How to Reach Me

You may call or text me at 647.829.7430. Please note that during sessions I will have my cell phone turned off. If my phone is off when you call, text me (instead of leaving a voicemail) and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Post-Session Integration

Here are some tips to help you properly integrate your session to get the most out of it:

  • Please be sure to allow at least ten minutes after your session to begin to gently integrate the sound bath experience, instead of rushing back out into the busy world or into the next part of your day. You may wish to take this time to journal and to drink water. Alternative Thinking is a great place to spend some time after your session. It's an artisanal market and has many beautiful products crafted by local artists and small business owners.

  • Stay well-hydrated after your session, and consume light, nourishing food to help support the treatment.

  • It's important to be gentle with yourself following your sound bath. Often, after your session, you may find yourself feeling deeply relaxed, which means that you have shifted over to your parasympathetic nervous system (known for "rest and digest"). It's a good idea to stay in this nervous system state so that your body can catch up to what your treatment has asked it to do. This process may last for a couple of hours or a couple of days. You can think of the session as having gone to a market to buy groceries, and then using the groceries to provide a nourishing meal for yourself when you get home.

  • Avoid vigorous exercise for at least a couple of hours. Intense exercise will stimulate your sympathetic nervous system and take you out of healing mode. If you feel like you want to move your body, consider going for a walk, or restorative yoga.

  • Reduce or avoid alcohol and caffeine. Stimulants and irritants can delay or prevent your body from properly integrating your treatment as your body has to switch from healing to detoxing for survival.

  • Don't schedule anything intense or stressful after your session. Stress will activate your flight or fight response, and can make you feel worse after a treatment.

  • If possible, take a salt bath on the night of your session. Salt baths also activate the healing nervous system and assist your body in catching up to the treatment.
